PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

MCI-2070 is a water-based migratory corrosion inhibitor concentrate for asphalt primers.

 

MCI-2070 can be added to asphalt primers when they are to be applied directly to reinforced concrete. When MCI-2070 is added to the asphalt primer, the migratory corrosion inhibitor will migrate through the concrete to effectively inhibit all reinforcement from corrosion within 2-3 inches of the treated surface.

 

MCI-2070 mixes perfectly with asphalt primers used in concrete to increase its adhesion and inhibitory effectiveness against the corrosion of concrete.

WHERE TO USE IT

MCI-2070 is recommended for asphalt emulsions to protect reinforced concrete against corrosion. It is added in concentrations of 2-4% by weight for sufficient protection.

ADVANTAGES

  • It will migrate from the asphalt primer through the concrete matrix, seeking the metal and forming a monomolecular corrosion-inhibiting layer on the surface of the metal.
  • Provides corrosion protection and adhesion without increased labor costs.
  • Provides protection to the rebar in the presence of chlorides and carbonation.
  • It does not change the conventional application procedure.
  • It does not contain nitrite, chromates, zinc or phosphate.
  • Easy to mix in emulsions.
  • Effective at low concentrations providing economical protection.

Specific gravity: 1.01 – 1.02
Appearance: Dark brown.
Non-volatile content: 27-32%
Shelf life: 12 months in a sealed drum.
pH: 9.5-10.5 (1% in water)

Available in 5 gallon (19 liter) and 55 gallon (208 liter) containers.
