PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

VpCI-368 combines oil-based carriers with vapor phase corrosion inhibitors. Provides optimal corrosion protection for metals exposed to the elements. The VpCI-368 provides a semi-dry, translucent film that can be easily removed and is suitable for handling as it does not transfer to hands and does not absorb dust or dirt.
VpCI-368 has the characteristics of rust protectors that penetrate and displace water, as well as easy-to-remove polymeric layers and weldable films. Additionally, this type of coating does not require any specific preparation of the surface to be treated.

ADVANTAGES

  • Protection up to 24 months outdoors in corrosive atmosphere.
  • The combination of contact inhibitors with vapor phase inhibitors provides greater protection than conventional oils.
  • It does not contain nitrites, chromates or phosphates.
  • It has a very high flash point.
  • Removes with mineral spirits, aliphatic solvents, alkaline cleaners, vapor degreasing solvents or paint remover.
  • The properties of the film VpCI-368, dry to the touch, allow that the metallic surface can be manipulated easily.
  • Poor surface preparation.
  • Penetrating and moisture-displacing film.
  • Thixotropic and self-regenerating.
  • Forms thermally stable layers in a range of – 40° C to 93° C, with excellent resistance against fire.
  • Non-conductive film, with high insulating and resistance properties, is an effective protector against galvanic corrosion between different metals.
  • Excellent resistance against ultraviolet radiation, and the film provides optimum performance outdoors, without cracking or chipping after prolonged periods of exposure to sunlight.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

  • Protection of refineries, power plants and chemical plants for long periods.
  • External surfaces of large machines, pipes, pumps, heat exchangers, etc., during periods of waiting, storage or operation.
  • Protection of factory structures and equipment.
  • Packages with or without coverage chartered to other countries and / or during long storage.
  • Bridges, structures and bars for reinforced concrete.
  • Flanges, profiles and frames.
  • Steel ceilings and aluminum or steel walls.
  • Protects any metal part, component, or assembly between machining or machining stages.
  • The internal and external surfaces of platforms and marine equipment.
  • Ballast, storage and process tanks.
  • Wire cables, cables, chains and wires.
  • Internal and external surfaces of drill pipes. Suction tubes, and other tubular products.
  • Foundries, pumps, valves and compressors.
  • Heat exchangers, boilers, turbines and transformers.
  • The internal and external surfaces of motors.
  • Bearings, brake drums and motor components.
  • Racks, cabinets, stampings, castings and in steel sheets.
  • Transmissions, hydraulic pistons and cylinders.
  • Protection layer for equipment.

APPLICATION METHOD

VpCI-368 is recommended to be applied by dipping, spraying, or brushing. The recommended thickness is 12.5-50 microns (indoor and indoor applications). 75-125 microns (outdoor applications). The use of concentrated VpCI-368 ensures maximum protection. For shorter periods of protection, it can be diluted with mineral spirits in a 1: 1 ratio.
VpCI-368 can be applied to already rusted or oily surfaces. During application, it is not necessary to heat the inhibitor solution or increase the temperature for drying.
VpCI-368 can be pigmented.
