PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

VpCI®-619 is a water-based corrosion inhibitor designed to protect against Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) in high temperature applications up to 1100 ° F (600 ° C). VpCI®-619 can extend the life of pipes and lagging in refining, petrochemical and marine environments, thus minimizing replacement costs for materials and labor. The product is not corrosive or flammable, so it can be applied and used safely in a wide variety of conditions.

A typical and extremely useful application is the protection of insulated pipes from steam or hot oil. Moisture trapped below the surface of the lagging can cause hard-to-detect corrosion. If it goes unnoticed and left untreated for a long time, this corrosion can lead to potentially disastrous leaks with costly damage.

To deter CUI, VpCI®-619 should be sprayed into the lagging before wrapping around new pipes or other metal surfaces that need to be insulated. VpCI®-619 can also be applied to existing pipes when corrosion is encountered during maintenance. If the integrity of the tubing is not compromised, the tubing can be cleaned and wrapped in new VpCI®-619 treated lagging for future protection.

VpCI-619 has been specifically designed as a protective layer for metal surfaces that will later be covered with thermal insulation. Thanks to its aqueous base, the product is non-flammable, safe and non-polluting. Unlike polymeric paints, VpCI-619 does not require a previous surface preparation, it can be applied on it, covered with a well-adhered film or inlay. Due to its resistance to high operating temperatures, it withstands up to 427 ° C during startup or running operations.
