Finishing mortar
Q-2038

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Q-2038 is a one-component product, formulated based on inorganic binders, fibers, selected aggregates, additives and polymers that incorporates the latest nanotechnological advances in chemistry for hydraulic mortars and that incorporates Migrating Corrosion Inhibitors (MCI).

Its high workability and lightness, combined with its great resistance, allow simple and fast repairs in a wide range of thicknesses. This allows higher yields than those provided by traditional repair mortars.

PROPERTIES

  • Applicable outdoors and indoors.
  • Chloride ion content (EN1015-17): ≤ 0.05% (by weight of dry mortar)
  • High resistances.
  • Great adherence to most conventional substrates.
  • Great workability.
  • Wide range of thicknesses without sag (5-50 mm).
  • Reinforced with fibers.
  • Fine finish.
  • Great impermeability.
  • Meets the requirements of UNE EN 1504, part 3, class R4.
  • It improves the critical concentration of chlorides in the initiation period compared to a normal mortar by 83% and the corrosion rate in the period of propagation of the corrosive attack by 86%.

HOW TO USE

Preparation of the support: The support must be saturated with water, clean and free of crumbly material, paints, lacquers, release agent or curing liquids.

Loose or deteriorated material will be removed by manual or mechanical means, until a rough, clean and firm surface is obtained.

The oxides that may exist from the bars and reinforcements will be eliminated, proceeding to their subsequent passivation using Q-2023. If there are water leaks, they must be eliminated beforehand.

If no bonding bridge is used, the surface will be saturated wet and will present a darkened appearance free of puddles or visible water.

In the case of requiring a higher degree of adhesion, having complicated supports due to their low absorption or possibility of movements, an adhesion promoter will be applied.

Product preparation: In a clean container, pour 3.3 to 3.75 liters of water, depending on the desired consistency. Slowly add the contents of the bag, mixing with the help of a mechanical stirrer until a homogeneous mass without lumps is obtained.

The mass will then be left to rest for 1-2 minutes to obtain a greater moistening of the mortar, proceeding with a brief subsequent re-kneading.

Do not add more water or remix if the material loses its consistency over time.

Product application: The application temperature in the environment and on the substrate will be between + 5º C and + 30º C, ensuring that it is within this range during the 12 hours after application.

If a bonding bridge has been used, it will still maintain surface tack. Otherwise, a new coat will be applied before placing the mortar.

In the case of applying it directly to concrete, the facing will be damp, with no traces of water.

The Q-2038 will be applied by spraying mechanically or manually by means of a trowel or trowel. The thickness of the applied material will have a certain uniformity, being advisable a first initial layer of regularization in the case of very heterogeneous substrates.

Subsequently, a final finish can be made with a trowel or sponge, as soon as the mortar has begun to set.

The Q-2038 does not require special curing when applied to non-excessively porous mortar or concrete surfaces. When applied on more porous concrete or mortar surfaces, it is recommended to protect the Q-2038 with plastics or wet burlap to avoid too rapid evaporation of mixing water. Curing is also essential when there are unfavorable application conditions, a dry environment, strong wind, etc.

Cleaning of tools: Tools and tools are washed with water, immediately after use. If the product hardens, it can only be removed by mechanical means.
